Terrible.! Ate here a few years ago & man was it delicious.! Ordered a couple of burritos this morning and sad to say they forgot something I asked to be put in them and they are way smaller than I remember..
Great food, great service, friendly service. Way too popular. Get there either early or late ( just before they close) to get a table.
Looove the take out here!
Tacos were divine. Smothered burrito, Burrito Bañado, was awesome! I got Christmas (half green/half red sauce) because it was my first time here and I wanted to try both. Usually I am a green fan...but here the red was better. Get Christmas, you decide. It still seems odd so few places here season with onion. But the red or green sauce offsets that loss for me.
Danny you and your family are the greatest. You keep your business going strong. Everyone that goes to NELLIES keeps coming back and tells everyone to go there. I truly love Nellies God bless you Danny,Nellie and your sister and all employees Food is GREAT
My favorite mexican food place in the area. Everything is great there
Decent food and menu as well as staff. Little Nellie's was always my favorite personally but you get what you get.
One of the best In Town Try It You will Love It
A hometown favorite! Sopapilla Compuesta is amazing. Red Chile taste just like Grandmas Red Chile should. Delicious!!
Food great! Service superb! They were very busy, but so well worth the wait!!!
Food was good. Portion size was good. Salsa was hot. The place was pretty busy but it didn't take long for the waitress to take our order or to get our food. It did take a long time to get the bill. Otherwise, I would give it five stars.
Service was very slow, but the food was really tasty and worth the wait. This is some of the best New Mexican I've had in Las Cruces and had a good family vibe throughout the place. I'd go again.
Best place to have a great New Mexican meal. Always busy nice servers!
Best red Chile in town. Great staff. Great service. Thanks guys.

Loved this place only open for breakfast and lunch. Huevos Ranchero to die for the sauces red and green were wonderful with just the right kick. Food tasted like home you feel like your in someones home. Great service too.
The owner was very kind, but the waitress helping her was unattending for the most part and did not seem friendly. She hardly came to the table and left me and my companion without a drink for some time. They do provide complimentary chips and salsa, but the serving was small and the salsa was fairly hot. The cheese enchiladas were good but needed more flavor. This restaurant is also cash-only or check, which took me by surprise. There is an ATM there, but the fee is a bit steep and I ended up paying more than I wanted. Overall, okay restaurant but I probably will not be returning.
This is a first not eating inside Nelliesbut thankful there open during the quarantine You can place ur order and they bring ur food to ur car and u can eat in the car or go home lol...Food is still delicious as always.
Hands down, the best Mexican food in New Mexico! The family that runs Nellie's is warm, welcoming, and knows how to cook! The service is personal and friendly, the food is top notch, and customers are greeted as family. Great food, great service, and a sense of belonging. You just can't beat Nellie's!
We have always enjoyed eating at Nellie's Cafe, great food, great service the environment feels like family eating at grandma's kitchen table. Thank you everyone who works at Nellie's Cafe🌹 never lose you hospitality👍
Food is absolutely wonderful!!! A bit of a wait but well worth it.
The food is delicious 😋 they just need a bigger restaurant.
We stopped here for lunch after visiting the nearby Railroad Museum (another good place to visit), The café was very busy, it seems to be a popular place. The tacos and combination plate were very good. The service was slow, but probably because it was so busy. We had to wait almost 20 minutes to get our check after we ate
This is one of the best places to experience Local NM food. The green chile is hot, the red chile is savory, and Nellie still works in the kitchen! If you have the time, haven't been, or want to be reminded of the flavors you grew up with get over here now!
Some of the best Mexican food in the state.Only open for breakfast and lunch. Cash onlyAgain best Mexican food in THE STATE!!!Hidden secret of Las Cruces. Must try, get there early for lunch or wait in line ....
Best chili we have eaten anywhere. We try to stop whenever we are passing through from Texas to Arizona. We had the double burrito platter, huevos rancheros and green chili nachos. The green chili had some heat and he red chili had a smoky flavor. So good!
The FOOD!!! Wow!! The service is awesome and quick! It's still run by the original family that opened it! Better come early because this place fills up fast!!! That's how good it is!! Watch out for that salsa because it's fresh and they aren't afraid to make it hot! It's great! The food is awesome! Check it out! Like me, you'll be back again and again!!
Delicious food and great service:)
Small mom and pop feel with some of the most delicious New Mexican food in las cruces. Just nothing much to say other than it can get packed and busy during peak hours but worth it. All the staff are amazing and I have been going to eat here for about 15 years. The best restaurant. Must try it
The process of getting seated and the service in generally can be frustrating - but the food makes up for it. Best green chile in Southern New Mexico.
We eat at Nellie's 2-3 times a month. This is the best Mexican Food in town. It is a very small restaurant and it is crowded but no one minds as the food is great. The waitresses have been there for a long time and get to know you. It is like a family as we know the owner and he is there working along with the waitress and his mother Nellie, is in the kitchen cooking. The red enchiladas are so delicious, the burritos are full of goodness and chile is served on top with plenty of cheese. Tacos are great. The salsa is hot and spicy and crisp tostadas. They serve you quickly and food is always fresh, hot and tasty! Love this place, and our friends meet us there and we usually have a table with 6-8 persons. We are all retired so we go at 11:00 am to beat the lunch crowd! Everything on the menu is delicious.
This is real deal "New Mexican" food! Definitely old school Las Cruces. Everybody here is so nice and the owner/manager is walking around making small talk and making sure everything is made the way it should be. One of our favorite spots in town to eat for sure! Very limited hours and the place gets packed so be prepared to wait for a table. I hoghly recommend this restaurant.
The food taste good. The only problems I have are the prices are way to high and that they reheat the food in a microwave before sending it out to serve. Smh.
Great food and even better service!
Visiting here from Colorado and this is the best Cafe. Food is excellent. We will be back.
Nellie's is best. Their green and red sauce can't be beat, even the beans are a cut above. Also great family service.
Great place for Mexican food!! The sauce was nice and spicy. I had enchiladas which were excellent. The service was good.
Love their red enchilada sauce, and pretty much everything else. Busy during lunch time, but good service.
Cozy atmoshere, Danny and staff very friendly, food is delicious and very New Mexican!
Good menu, good food. Traditional zippy red and hot green, just what you hope for when you crave Mexican food. The family running the business is very friendly and attentive. You are brought chips and hot green salsa straight away. Ordered the #1 combo with a taco, cheese enchilada red, and red sauce on beef with beans and rice. All tasty. Highly recommend
The food here is amazing! Wow!
The food is fantastic! We don’t go to Las Cruces as much as we’d like but when we do we stop by here. This is a meal that we look forward too. They’re not open enough though, hours are minimal. The food is that good though I still give them 5 stars. Tip, order the enchiladas which are out of this world :)
THIS is the type of place I like finding on the road. REAL food and Chile like God created. Great service.
Good , quality food. Prices were fair. Staff was super friendly. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was seating. An upgrade to the old tables and chairs would dramatically make the dining experience better.
Great homemade food. I had liver and onions with jalapenos. So good? Might have to wait to be seated. Family owned. Mother Nellie was there working at age 82. Friendly with proud owners. Must go!
Good service great food
We've been eating at Nellie's since 1990. Sometimes you wait, sometimes you don't....but who really cares. The BEST New Mexican food in Las Cruces!
This family has been serving our community for generations. The place is packed with locals who know you might have a bit of a wait and there’s usually one or two travelers who went out of their way to find it. Yes it’s great food ( I love the huevos rancheros and the soppapilla compuestas. But more than that it’s the people.
I so wanted the food to taste as delicious as all the reviews say, but the chili was so hot i really couldn't taste anything. The portions are generous for the price. There will be a wait no matter what time it is because the place is very small. When i went it was over crowded, people standing throughout the dining area.
Live the food and service worth the wait
